THE Venson Public Sector team has taken the chequered flag in the grand final of the 2002 Kwik-Fit Fleet National Karting Challenge, held in association with Fleet News.

Nine fleet industry teams battled it through from seven regional qualifying heats to the grand final held at the Daytona International circuit, Milton Keynes. The six-strong Venson team of Chris Cooper, Peter Seward, James Rodriguez, Gareth McAuley, Tony Marston and Nick Rodriguez led almost from the start as each team member raced for two 20-minute sessions.

The Shell Auto Finance team was runner-up with third place going to the ARVAL PHH team.

Teams from Alphabet, Carillion Fleet Management, Lloyds TSB autolease, Vardy Contract Motoring and Custom Fleet also competed in the grand final.

Winners' trophies were presented by Kwik-Fit Fleet Group managing director Ron Bambra and director Simon English.
