HERTZ, the world's largest car rental firm, has signed an agreement with Yeoman to provide its mobile navigation service to the rental firm's customers across the UK from this month. The service, called TravelM8, provides route planning, driving directions and traffic information to the user's mobile phone.

Users call a single number, costing 60p a minute, to initiate the service and talk to an operator who tells them where they are and where they need to go. TravelM8 also stores the journey information, so customers can hang up when they have heard the information they need and call back when further information if required.
