The TF was launched in February and seven went under the hammer in front of a crowd of MG Rover Approved buyers.
The launch models averaged £14,500 – equivalent to 85% of current list price – and top price went to an MG TF 160 in Tahiti blue with a blue hood that sold for £16,000 – 80% of current list price.
Ian Wiggins, auction sales manager for MG Rover, with BCA Blackbushe manager James Gibson, said: 'The new MG TF is a worthy successor to the proud heritage the MG name represents in British motoring. This was reflected in the strong prices achieved in the sale.'
