Caddy van gets the Formula One treatment

WHITE van man will be disappointed to learn that the Volkswagen Caddy van pictured here in racing livery is a one-off project which will not go into production.

VW's racing team took a 90bhp turbodiesel Caddy and has so far coaxed 130bhp from under its bonnet. However, the aim is to achieve 200bhp from the 1.9-litre diesel unit. This will give the van a 0-60mph time of 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 140mph.

The van will be on show at various events around the country.
