Megane details

RENAULT has revealed specification details of the new Megane which will go on sale in the UK from October 18.

A simplified range will offer a choice of 24 models rather than the current 40, and all models will include remote central locking, a warning message display, electric front windows, height adjustable driver's seat, a trip computer and a four-way adjustable steering wheel.

Standard safety features include six airbags, ABS with electronic brake force distribution and emergency braking assistance and ISOFIX child seat fittings.

A hands-free Renault Card system, which operates in conjunction with proximity sensors in the car, does away with the locking, unlocking and ignition process, and is available as standard on Privilege models and as a £250 option on the rest of the range.

Both three-door Sport Hatch and five door hatchback models are priced from £10,500 on-the-road.
