THE long-awaited high performance Ford Focus RS is to go on sale in October – two years after it appeared as a concept at the British International Motor Show.

The 212bhp front-wheel drive car promises to sprint from 0-60mph in 6.4 seconds, with a top speed of 144mph. Carbon dioxide output is 237g/km. A maximum of 30 models will be built a day. The RS is expected to cost under £20,000.
