RESIDUAL values are undergoing a temporary revival as demand is once again outstripping supply in the used car trade.

Andrew Shepherd, senior group auctioneer at Manheim Auctions, claims the market has changed quickly over the past three months with RVs improving.

He said: 'Supply outstripped demand in June, while during July and the first half of August supply and demand were on an equal footing, and going into September we have seen demand outstrip supply.

'Should there be a large influx of stock from the fleet sector and leasing companies during September, then I can see a return to the trading pattern of June. But if the influx is fairly constrained, then this present market should carry us into October.'
