PRACTICAL Car & Van Rental has given Volkswagen vans a vote of confidence following a review of its fleet.

The rental firm operates from 140 outlets nationwide and has almost 300 Volkswagen vans, with the LT being the most popular.

Warren Mitchell, fleet director, said: 'The operational life of our vehicles is between two and two-and-a-half years. In this time large numbers of people doing very different jobs will drive them.

'The quality construction of the LT provides us with a durable, reliable vehicle that can cope with customers' demands. Although acquisition costs are a little higher, these are more than offset by superior performance and the first class aftersales support we receive.'
