RX-8 for £20,000

MAZDA'S new four-seater sports coupe, the RX-8, will go on sale from under £20,000 in the UK this summer.

Two versions of the radical rotary-engined car will be offered – a 189bhp car for £19,995 on- the-road, while a 237bhp version will go on sale at £21,995. The aggressive pricing strategy is to compensate for expected high carbon dioxide emissions caused by the relatively thirsty rotary engine.
