The company says its Convoy van is the third biggest selling heavy vehicle in the market and can be seen on more than 300 local authority fleets, as well as police and ambulance services nationwide.
LDV has grown since chief executive Allan Amey led a management buy-out of the vans division of Leyland DAF in April 1993. In recent years, the company said, it has invested £40 million in new facilities, including a £30 million state-of-the-art paint plant.
LDV's executive director, operations Clive Griffiths said: 'This is a historic milestone for LDV. Since we were formed in 1993, we have demonstrated our ability to lead the market and we plan, through our investments in both plant and people, to continue this success for many years to come.'
