UNITED Co-op Funeral Group has ordered a fleet of customised hearses and limousines in a deal worth £1.4 million.

The Manchester-based funeral business has placed an order for 26 Ford Fairlanes with specialist vehicle manufacturer Coleman Milne. The first three hearses and five limousines are due for delivery in November while the remaining order of 15 limousines and 11 hearses is scheduled for a phased delivery from February onwards.
Jack Walsh, business development manager for United Co-op Funeral Group, said: 'This is the largest single order we have placed for our 275-strong fleet.'
The 4.2-litre cars can seat up to eight people, including the driver, in the limousines while the hearse can accommodate four pall bearers along with the driver.
