BCA and Motability are teaming up on Monday to host the first ever fleet sale to use Live Online technology.

Buyers will be able to compete online from wherever they are in the country against buyers in the auction hall at Measham.

So far, Live Online has only been used in closed sale environments in conjunction with motor manufacturers and their dealer networks.

This Motability sale is open to all BCA account card buyers and any number can take the opportunity to bid online through BCA's secure system.

A total of 200 cars will be offered and all vehicles have been hand-picked for the sale and 'Smart Prepared'.

The sale is already catalogued on BCA's Auction View service, with a fully detailed description and a digital image of virtually every vehicle.

The latest version of Live Online uses sophisticated web browser technology to deliver live video and real time audio to remote bidders, allowing them to compete with buyers in the auction hall.

The system has been developed in-house by BCA and uses BCA's screens in the auction hall to display online bids, making the system entirely transparent for both buyers in the auction hall and remote bidders via the internet.

BCA's director of customer affairs Tom Madden, said: This is a significant step in the evolution of remarketing cars for fleet operators.'
