UK businesses have the chance to prove how well managed they are in a new business award.

The Institute of Directors, in association with Cranfield School of Management, will be selecting the nation's best-managed company over the next year.

Businesses are being invited to complete a special investigative survey developed by Cranfield that will assess just how well British companies are run.

All companies that complete an entry will receive a benchmarking report that will show the performance of the company in comparison with others in their business sector. The data will also be used to compare businesses both within geographic regions and nationwide.

The top-performing businesses will be contacted by the panel of judges to arrange an assessment visit. Those short-listed will then be invited to the award ceremony in London.

Application forms can be downloaded from www.som.cranfield.ac.uk/som/groups/opsman/iodsurvey/entry.asp or by contacting Dawn Gallyot at Cranfield School of Management on 01234 751122.
