SECURITY manufacturer Chubb has ordered a multi-million pound fleet of Renault Meganes after visiting the manufacturer' Technocentre in Paris giving it an early viewing of the new car.

Renault invited Chubb to view two Megane prototypes at its Technocentre earlier this year.

Rob Smith, fleet manager at Chubb said: 'Our visit to the Renault Technocentre helped us to make our minds up when we saw the prototype Megane vehicles. When we saw the final version of the Megane Sport Tourer dCi 80 it fulfilled all our criteria.'

Chubb has taken delivery of 246 Renault Meganes in a deal worth more than £3.2 million at showroom prices with Chubb's engineers using the Megane Sport Tourer dCi 80s for maintenance and safety checks on alarm systems.

Smith said: 'At Chubb our engineers work their cars extremely hard, being on call for 24 hours a day, seven days a week for one week in every seven and a varying number of nationwide customer call-outs per day.

'We need a vehicle we can depend on, that will be able to withstand the constant demands placed upon it by our engineers, as well as being spacious and comfortable for our drivers.'
