A UK housing association has installed a vehicle tracking system across its fleet in a bid to improve driver efficiency and promote duty of care across its workforce.

Fleetstar-Online will provide the system for Sunderland Housing Group's fleet of 210 light commercial vehicles, after securing the £300,000 contract.

Sunderland Housing will use the system to track vehicles, find employee locations, provide clients with arrival times and give lost drivers accurate directions.

Alan Ballantine, group procurement manager at Sunderland Housing Group, said: 'Our workforce management needs are complex. We want to know who is working on what property and we sometimes have to prove it to our tenants.'
