FLEET decision-makers can learn how to maximise the potential of the internet at a major industry event to be held on January 28 next year.

Manage Your Fleet Online will be hosted by Fleet News and sister publication Fleet NewsNet and will cover key services that fleets can use to slash costs, improve safety and reduce administration.

To be held at the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon, the event will feature speakers from all areas of industry as well as case studies to show the real-world impact of hi-tech fleet management.

Among the issues speakers will address will be the first steps in moving your fleet online, acquisition of vehicles and online security.

Managing vehicles online will be another key area, considering the management of vehicles supplied through contract hire, the online systems available to run outright purchase fleets and the latest technology for managing fuel via the web.

The focus on security will include a detailed study of using the internet to track valuable assets and will also look at the potential security risks of using internet-based operations. A special section on disposals will reveal the pros and cons of using internet-based systems for selling vehicles.

Experts will also provide an exclusive briefing on future developments and what they could mean for the industry.

Event director Chris Lester said: 'The internet is set to become a vital part of every fleet in the next few years and this day will offer a valuable chance to understand how your business can benefit.'
