THE prestige and executive car market remains strong, according to BCA, with the auction house noting continued interest in the 'Top Car' sector.

A recent sale of prestige and executive vehicles held at BCA Manchester saw many achieving above CAP clean.

More than 200 buyers attended the sale, which included a 02/52 Mercedes-Benz E240 Elegance with 3,326 miles that reached £25,500 – 136% above CAP clean – and a 01/Y Audi TT 1.8 T quattro with 22,581 miles which went for £19,500, 114% above CAP clean.

BCA is hoping to increase sales of executive vehicles even further with the launch of its new prestige online service.

The auction house is offering trade and non-trade buyers an online Prestige & Performance Catalogue showing vehicles entered for sale in its Top Car, Prestige and Sporting Car sales.

Descriptions, lot numbers and images are available on the group's website and BCA hopes the site will create more profit for sellers.

A BCA spokesman said: 'The non-trade buyer has always been an important part of the audience for Top Car and often these are professional people who are quite happy to compete for a prestige car at auction.

'With such specialist high value vehicles, the pre-sale marketing is critical to success and this new service helps potential buyers plan their visit to BCA and generates more buying power for sellers.'
