Audi A8 W12 launch is a first for Britain

AUDI has confirmed it will bring the 12-cylinder long-wheelbase A8 (pictured) to the UK next year, promising class-leading performance in its range-topping luxury saloon.

The A8 6.0 L quattro will be Britain's first 12-cylinder Audi when it is launched next spring and will feature unique front end styling with its single frame radiator grille.

The 6.0-litre W12 engine produces 444bhp with 428lb-ft of torque, 95% of which is available between 2,300rpm and 5,300rpm. Audi is promising a 0-62mph time of 5.2 seconds thanks to the A8's lightweight aluminium construction, reaching its electronically limited maximum speed of 155mph in about 30 seconds. Prices will be confirmed closer to its launch.
