Avis acts to cut crash overheads

DAILY rental group Avis Rent a Car has outsourced its accident management and claims department in an attempt to reduce accident repair costs.

Insurance claims group Town and Country has won the contract and will provide an accident management service, including vehicle repairs and insurance money retrieval.

Michael White, managing director at Avis UK, said: 'Town and Country is able to maintain strong controls over the cost and quality of vehicle repairs and the downtime of our fleet. Its experience in claims recovery is also expected to bring benefits.' Avis also plans to reduce business costs by introducing new operating systems.
