VAUXHALL has confirmed the new Astra will be more spacious than the outgoing model, and has promised class-leading handling.

The next-generation car is more than an inch taller, nearly two inches wider and more than five inches longer than the model it will replace, while there have been similar increases in the interior.
Like the current Vectra, the interior has been given the impression of greater space with almost vertical side windows, while the car is about an inch wider for front and rear passengers.
The new Astra goes on sale in the UK in May.
