SAAB has published revised running cost figures for petrol versions of the new 9-3 with improved fuel economy.

The 175bhp 9-3 2.0t improves from 33.2mpg to 34.0mpg, resulting in a drop in carbon dioxide emissions from 206g/km to 199g/km – two bands lower for benefit-in kind-tax. The 150bhp Saab 9-3 1.8t is now rated at 34.4mpg on the combined cycle instead of 34.0mpg, with carbon dioxide emissions of 198g/km instead of 199g/km.The changes took effect in production in mid-January, so all cars registered from March 1 should benefit.
