THE BBC's brightest new presenting star, a shining light of British comedy for more than two decades, and a legendary soul and disco band will help make the 2003 Fleet News Awards the best night out of the year for the fleet industry.

Fleet News has signed up BBC Breakfast News anchor Natasha Kaplinsky, comedian Lenny Henry, and The Real Thing, who had numerous hits during the height of disco fever, to ensure the entertainment at Le Meridien Grosvenor House Hotel, London, on March 19 will provide a stunning accompaniment to a glittering array of awards.

The Fleet News Awards recognise the top performers and innovators in the industry during the past year, from fleet managers to car manufacturers, contract hire firms to service companies.

In November 2002, Oxford graduate Natasha Kaplinsky moved from Sky Sunrise to the BBC flagship breakfast programme following stints at Meridian, London News Network and London Weekend Television.

On the night, Kaplinsky will be hosting the awards ceremony. The comic touch will be provided by Lenny Henry, who since the seventies has been delighting audiences with his stand-up routines, TV shows, acting and wacky characters, as well as his work for Comic Relief.

The Real Thing first had a UK number one in 1976 with the catchy disco anthem 'You To Me Are Everything', and followed it up with other dancefloor fillers, including 'Can't Get By Without You' and 'Can You Feel The Force?'. The band is still going strong after 25 years on the circuit. Finally, Joffins Disco will provide dancing late into the night for one of the best evenings of the year.
