Fleets lead way with telematics

FLEETS are at the forefront of developing in-car telematics systems that will eventually cut costs, improve journey times and protect the environment, industry experts claim.

A report by market intelligence provider JATO Dynamics and management consultancy ph impetus says manufacturers have followed the lead of independent companies to launch fleet telematics solutions for commercial use.

The report authors noted that, in the retail sector in particular, use of Bluetooth technology is gaining ground. The report, with satellite navigation and multimedia modules as well as telematics, covers issues such as technology, the customer value proposition, vehicle manufacturer considerations, the value chain, market development, the players, and market intelligence.
