Fusion addition

FORD is attempting to make its Fusion more attractive to style-conscious customers with the introduction of the Fusion+, a range-topping version of the Fiesta-based car, with 16-inch alloy wheels, new bumpers and grille and privacy glass. Inside, the car is riddled with gadgets such as a rear seat DVD entertainment system with infra-red headsets. The system can play video games and CDs, along with MP3 files. On sale in the summer and launched at the Geneva show next week, prices are yet to be announced.
  • Ford has introduced a six-speed manual transmission on Mondeo TDCi 130 models, with prices starting at £16,320 on-the-road. Designed to suit its high torque output and to give greater in-gear flexibility, Ford claims the gearbox will improve fuel economy, performance and refinement levels. Motorway fuel economy is increased by a claimed 7% due to a taller sixth gear while its overall combined figure is marginally improved at 46mpg. CO2 emissions remain at 154g/km.
