SAAB revealed its new 9-3 convertible at the show in the latest stage of the biggest product offensive in the company's history.

Offering a stiffer body structure than the outgoing model, the car is wider and has a longer wheelbase, although the body is shorter overall. One-touch soft-top operation of the roof requires no manual handling and takes 20 seconds. Other features include automatic boot expansion linked to the softtop and a CargoWing rear spoiler and ski rack in one.

Two 2.0-litre engines are available, either in 175bhp or 210bhp formats, with a five/six-speed manual gearbox or five-speed automatic. Service intervals are two years apart.
