The Department for Trade and Industry (DTI) has issued a consultation paper seeking views for draft regulations for the End-Of-Life Vehicle Directive.

The draft regulations include 'free take-back' by manufacturers for vehicles put on the market from July 2002, should they have a negative value when scrapped. This particular regulation has led to concern in the fleet industry that carmakers will pass the extra costs involved onto them. The consultation document can be found at www.defra.gov.uk.
