FORD launched its Fusion on to the used car market at a recent British Car Auctions (BCA) sale, which included an online auction.

There were 26 online bidders, with 63 at the auction centre in Measham.

Stewart Lawton, managing director at Lawton of Tadcaster, was one of the online bidders. He said: 'The system was fast, you could hear the auctioneers clearly and it was the next best thing to actually attending the sale.'

The 'Live On Line' system uses a video link and real-time sound system to enable online bidders to compete with those in the auction house.

Models on sale included the Fusion 1, 2 and 3, with both petrol and diesel models fetching 76% of the current list price. Additional models for sale included Fiesta, which averaged 102% of CAP clean, Ka, Mondeo and Focus 2.0 Ghia five-door, which generated 109% of CAP clean.
