BMW has revealed the first official pictures of its X3 'sports activity vehicle' which will make its public debut at this September's Frankfurt Motor Show.
The four-wheel drive wagon offers off-road capability with hill descent control as standard with optional trailer stability control (TSC).
Its xDrive four-wheel drive system feeds optimum torque to the required axle at any time, countering both understeer and oversteer on the road. Engines will include 3.0-litre petrol and diesel units.
UK sales are expected to start in spring 2004.
