Alfa revises UK models

ALFA Romeo has significantly raised the power of its 147 1.9 JTD 16-valve diesel engine with the introduction of a high performance 140bhp version.

The 1.9-litre Multijet engine produces maximum power at 4,000rpm, with 224lb-ft of torque at 2,000rpm.There is only a marginal loss in fuel consumption over the 115bhp 1.9 JTD engine at 47.9mpg compared to 48.7mpg and a slight hike in emissions by 2g/km to 157g/km of CO2.

Alfa Romeo claims a 0-62mph time of 9.1 seconds, with prices ranging from £16,170 to £17,970 on-the-road. The restyled GTV and Spider convertible sports cars also go on sale this month, with more power and Alfa Romeo's retro-look grille. Prices start at £23,270 on-the-road.
