NISSAN has launched a high-specification diesel Primera following soaring sales of the new 136bhp 2.2 dCi.

The T-spec comes as the new engine took 30% of Primera sales in July, and its specification mirrors the range-topping petrol-powered Primera.

Standard equipment on the T-spec includes colour-screen DVD sat-nav, cruise control, electronic stability programme, a rear-view camera, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, 17-inch alloy wheels, leather trim, climate control, electric windows and mirrors, electric sunroof and xenon headlamps.

The upgraded dCi engine gives the Primera a 0-62mph time of around 10 seconds and maximum torque of 232lb-ft at 2,000rpm. It achieves 46.3mpg on the combined cycle and carbon dioxide emissions of 164g/km. The Primera dCi T-spec hatchback costs £19,500 and the estate £20,600.
