HONDA celebrated a sell-out success during a closed auction at BCA Nottingham, as Britain sweltered in record-breaking temperatures.

The manufacturer offered 136 cars for sale and raised an average of 105.2% of CAP clean for each one.

About 50 buyers registered for the sale and the new Honda Accord achieved more than 90% of its equivalent cost new.

Richard Battams-Scott, Honda used car sales manager, said: 'Honda product continues to perform at the very peak of market expectations and this will surely strike a chord with fleet operators across the country.

'Our dealer network has consistently supported the BCA sales programme, which has been clearly demonstrated by their confident bidding across the range.'

The sale marks the latest in an excellent run of sales for Honda with BCA, in which all its cars have sold. In July, two sales saw 284 cars bought for 104% of CAP clean, while in June, 186 cars were offered and also achieved 104% of CAP clean.

Prices at the latest sale included a 02 52 Civic 5dr 1.6 SE Executive with 8,000 miles on the clock make £9,900, or 108% of CAP clean, while an 02 02 Jazz with 11,000 miles made £8,400, or 109.4% of CAP clean.
