VOLKSWAGEN Van Rental has announced a major development of its service.

Corporate customers requiring a commercial vehicle can now call a central freephone number and have a vehicle delivered direct from participating Volkswagen Van Centres – currently representing a third of the national network.

The programme is managed by Network Automotive Management (NAM) on behalf of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.

Mark Forton, national rental business manager for Volkswagen Vehicle Rental, said: 'The van rental programme is going well and winning major new business. This latest development is important to us as we want to ensure that the best possible support is made available to our national corporate rental customers.'

When NAM first opened its doors for business in 1978, it was to manage Autorent – a car rental programme on behalf of Volkswagen – and to provide a range of management and administrative support services to the motor industry.

Its client base includes many motor manufacturers and importers, more than 400 franchised dealers and more than 100 independent rental companies. Network Automotive Management is based in Dunstable, Bedfordshire.
