TECHNOLOGY company Toad claims its new Reverse Master can help fleet residual values by reducing the number of vehicles damaged while reversing.

The product can be fitted to any vehicle and prices start at £199 inc VAT. It uses an audible beep to tell drivers when obstacles, such as walls, other cars and even pedestrians, are too close. The system can also be fitted to trailers or caravans.

'Fleets have always been at the forefront of vehicle technology, as they have the most to gain from more efficiency,' said Paul Hughes, Toad's director of sales – technical services.

'Our new system makes it much more cost-effective for fleets to fit a reversing alarm to every vehicle. The cost savings in avoiding all those minor scrapes can be enormous, not only in repair downtime, but in insurance savings and improved residual values.'
