A SLUGGISH start to the year for used van sales will change, Glass's Information Services has predicted.

It expects the market to return to where it left off at the end of 2003 when best used stock proved popular.

George Alexander, chief editor, commercial vehicles, Glass's Information Services, said:'The trade continued to report that the best used stock offer at popular auctions at the end of 2003 was still selling well, and often at strong prices.'

BCA's director, customer affairs, Tom Madden noted a similar trend in 2003. He said: 'After a slow start, LCVs had one of the best years on record and used sales were exceptional, particularly in the last four months of the year where demand was the highest in recent memory.'
