BREAKFAST cereal manufacturer Jordans has outsourced its fleet management following a competitive tender involving some of the UK's largest leasing companies.

Bedford-based Independent Fleet Consultants secured the contract after fighting off competition from three major players. Jordan's vice-chairman, David Jordan, explained the group's decision to opt for IFC.

He said: 'We selected IFC ahead of a number of much larger suppliers because it could provide the level of service we as a privately-owned, family-run business wanted and believe we, ourselves, provide to our customers.

'Using its in-depth experience of fleet management and sophisticated fleet management systems, IFC provides us with a first-rate fleet management service, which is outsourced, off-site and thoroughly professional.'

IFC has already implemented a new fleet policy at Jordans, including driver training, the introduction of hands-free kits, consolidated invoicing, accident management and driver support.
