WANDSWORTH’s team of special constables has been given a new sponsored vehicle to help tackle crime in the area.

London’s Mayor Ken Livingstone handed over the new Rover 75 to Commissioner Sir John Stevens.

The vehicle replaces the previous sponsored vehicle which had been in service since 1994. The cars have been sponsored by local businesses. Livingstone said: ‘This will help provide even better public access to their local police service and I commend all those involved in making it a success.’
