Lower prices for revised C5

CITROEN’S revised C5 will have a lower list price at the entry point to the range and promises a higher level of equipment.

All models in the new-look C5 range will come with seven airbags, an electronic stabilisation programme with traction control, an alarm and fully automatic air conditioning.

Additional features available in the C5 include a lane departure warning system, designed to help prevent accidents caused by tiredness, directional headlamps, front parking sensors in addition to rear sensors and a speed limiter.

New engines include a 110bhp 1.6 HDi and a 138bhp 2.0 HDi, while the 3.0-litre V6 now comes with a six-speed automatic transmission. Citroen C5 prices (OTR): 1.8 LX £14,795; 1.8 VTR £15,795; 2.0 VTR £16,295; 2.0 Exclusive auto £19,595; 3.0 V6 Exclusive auto; 1.6 HDi LX £15,595; 1.6 HDi VTR £16,595; 2.0 HDi VTR £17,795; 2.2 HDi VTR auto £18,795; 2.0 HDi Exclusive £20,095; 2.2 HDi Exclusive auto £21,095.

Estate models add £1,100 except hatchback-only 1.8 VTR and 2.0 Exclusive auto.
