New Volkswagen engine

VOLKSWAGEN has added a new entry-level diesel engine to its Touran compact MPV range. The 89bhp 1.9-litre TDI engine is available in base-spec S trim, and costs £15,350 on-the-road.

Combined fuel economy is claimed at 47.1mpg and the car comes with a six-speed manual gearbox is fitted as standard.

The firm has also introduced a £1,500 Multimedia pack, available on all Tourans. The DVD player plays DVDs, CDs and MP3 and comes with a 7 inch screen mounted in the centre of the roof. It can also be connected to camcorders and games consoles and can be operated independently of the stereo if desired.
