LARGE fleets are being promised they will never lose another vehicle document with a new service from auction giant BCA.

BCA DocuSafe is a new automated document storage, scanning and verification service that uses optical technology to scan a range of documents including V5s and MoTs. The system, which is three storeys high and based in Peterborough, can hold 500,000 documents, with the potential to be expanded to hold two million or more.

Hi-tech systems mean the hard copies can be retrieved at the touch of a button, or customers can view scanned images online through a password-protected connection.

Neil O’Keefe, divisional director, remarketing services for BCA, said: ‘The current standard of document management in fleets is costing them money and has the potential to cause problems in the future.

‘This system automates the entire filing process making it almost impossible to misplace documents.

‘With the replacement cost of a misplaced V5 currently £19, DocuSafe has the potential to save fleets considerable amounts of money.’
