TAXI operator Derby Cabs has invested more than £200,000 in a fleet of eight new cabs.

The new fleet is the first batch of TXII cabs to be supplied to Derby and are all fully accessible for wheelchairs.

Partner David Hudson said: 'A fleet of modern, reliable, high-quality vehicles is vital to the smooth and successful running of our taxi service.

'Purpose-built taxis are popular with drivers for their small turning circle, offering unrivalled manoeuvrability and comfort, and with passengers for their instantly recognisable shape meaning they know it is safe and legal to hail and hire in the street.'

The new fleet has in-built protective screens between passengers and driver and have been liveried in yellow to meet Derby City Council regulations.
