BMW has unveiled estate versions of the latest 5-series (pictured) due to reach UK showrooms in May.

The 5-series Touring features a larger luggage compartment than the previous Touring, and offers additional space where run-flat tyres are fitted.

Four engines will be available from launch – the 525i 2.5-litre developing 192bhp, the 545i 4.4-litre V8 offering 333bhp, the new 525d producing 177bhp and the 530d yielding 218bhp.

Diesels will be Euro IV compliant and avoid the 3% supplement on benefit-in-kind tax. All Tourings come with self-levelling suspension as standard.
