BCA staged three concurrent Live Online sales in a bid to beat the recent cold snap which left many roads treacherous.

It marked the first time the company has held multiple Live Online sales at the same time.

The company staged Live Online sales for Motability Operations, MG Rover and Jaguar at BCA Nottingham, Blackbushe and Measham. It means an extra 51 buyers were able to participate across the three sales who otherwise would have been unable to attend.

Live Online uses web browser technology to deliver live video and real time audio to remote bidders, allowing them to compete with buyers in the auction hall. High-speed broadband is not needed, as it can be run on a 56k modem.

BCA Europe's director, remarketing, Keith Rogers said: 'With Live Online, distance or travelling conditions have no effect and the service really came into its own during the recent cold snap. It allowed three important vendor customers to conduct successful sales and reach their national buyer base, despite many buyers being unable to travel because of the weather.'
