THRIFTY Car Rental and Mitsubishi Motors have signed a new deal worth more than £10 million.

The daily rental company will take at least 700 new vehicles and the deal continues the Mitsubishi relationship into its third year for a 12-month duration.

During this time, Mitsubishi has been one of the key suppliers of niche vehicles to the increasing Thrifty UK fleet. Mitsubishi is the sole supplier of 4x4 vehicles to the Thrifty fleet.

Andrew Wertheim, manager of national fleet and used car sales for Mitsubishi, said: 'The rental and user chooser sectors of the car industry are now mirroring the retail market.

'Customers are becoming more selective in their requirements. Our specialist products such as the Shogun and the L200 pick-up are ideal vehicles for this market and enhance the quality proposition of our mainstream vehicles.'
