Safety forum tackles reversing problems

THE Fleet Safety Forum is stepping up its campaign for better reversing safety by holding a second half-day interactive 'Reverse Safely' workshop on March 24 at Daimler Chrysler, Wentworth Business Park, Barnsley.

Health & Safety Executive data reveals that at least 25% of fatalities on work sites involving vehicles occur when vehicles are reversing. The Reverse Safely workshop is an ideal opportunity for managers develop their understanding of why, where and when reversing crashes occur and ways of tackling the problem. It includes:

  • An introduction into the extent of the problem and how reversing crashes can be prevented
  • A practical demonstration showing the use of banksmen
  • A practical demonstration of reversing safety products
  • A study from a company working to reduce reversing crashes.
