The three-millionth Ford Focus has rolled off the production line at Saarlouis in Germany. One of Europe's most popular cars, it achieved sales of 468,000 units last year.

In a ceremony, John Fleming, vice-president manufacturing, Ford of Europe, drove the three millionth vehicle off the line.

He said: 'With the top-selling Focus and new Focus C-MAX off to a strong start in 2004, products from Saarlouis are leading Ford's increase in European market share.'
