FRESH prepared food and produce company Geest has awarded DaimlerChrysler Services Fleet Management a new contract to manage its 420-vehicle fleet.

The funding package has been specifically designed for Geest's needs and features contract hire with maintenance on a 42-month/84,000 miles basis.

Geest awarded the contract following a competitive tendering process involving eight fleet management companies.

The company's fleet is mixed at senior management level – Toyota and Volkswagen are available to essential business users and Volvo is added for the next selection banding. Most of the new vehicles are diesel.

Geest has more than 10,000 employees, with operations in Belgium, France, Spain and South Africa as well as the UK. It supplies more than 2,000 products, ranging from ready meals to dips and dressings and from salads to flower bouquets.
