HONDA is hoping to capitalise on the success of its Civic Type R with the latest high-performance five-door Civic Type S.

Although the revised Civic Type S uses a 160bhp version of the Type R's 2.0-litre engine and is available only as a five-door, as before, it gains Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) to reduce understeer or oversteer, as well as 16-inch alloy wheels with wider, lower-profile tyres, along with larger front brake discs.
