THE British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) has awarded its president, Freddie Aldous, with a lifetime achievement award. It was presented by BVRLA chairman Brian Back at the association's annual dinner in London.

Back said: 'Freddie Aldous has worked tirelessly on behalf of the industry through the BVRLA, of which he has been a member for more years than any of us can remember – rental committee chairman, association chairman and twice president, he is a veritable institution in the industry.

'He is a modest man but has little to be modest about – he has led a long and distinguished business career from early days in UDT, Swan Self Drive and then Swan National which later became Eurodollar.'
