MINI has registered its 100,000th UK model a year earlier than planned.

The group originally predicted sales of 25,000 MINIs in the UK but demand has meant the group's Oxford plant produced 176,000 last year alone.

Bedfordshire-based Roy Dobb took delivery of the 100,000th MINI, a silver Cooper S. To commemorate the delivery, the manufacturer has fixed a special plaque to the engine cover showing the date it was registered.
