Light commercial sales continue to attract large crowds of buyers, with both the trade and end users bidding strongly.

There is a good broad offering of stock in the marketplace at the moment from a variety of sources, so buyers have a wide choice of makes, models, configurations, ages and mileages.

With all the Bank Holidays out of the way, attendance is back to the sort of numbers we were seeing earlier in the year when the market was at its peak. And all the signs are that 2004 will be another big year in terms of volumes, with used demand mirroring that of the buoyant new van market.

Corporate sales sections continue to lead the market and are attracting a loyal following from buyers. LloydsTSB, Bank of Scotland, LeasePlan and the Royal Mail continue to record good results and are bringing a desirable selection of stock to the marketplace.

Lex Defence have enjoyed great results at Blackbushe, Measham, Belle Vue and Glasgow. These vehicles are now sold with warranted mileages, service histories, 654 re-registration documents and many with MOTs. This has bolstered buyer confidence in the product.

In particular LDV product has been performing well.

Land Rovers from Lex Defence are also much in demand, with many buyers using BCA’s online Commercial Auction View service to locate these vehicles. These specialist vehicles – and others such as 4x4 Double Cab Pick-ups – are currently recording the highest number of ‘online hits’ on Auction View.
